Postdoctor/Senior Researcher position for AMoRE experiment

□ Job description

The Center for Underground Physics (CUP, http://cupweb.ibs.re.kr/html/cup_en/) at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS, http://www.ibs.re.kr/eng.do ) in Daejeon, Korea invites applications for a post-doctoral or senior researcher position to work on AMoRE experiment. AMoRE group is constructing AMoRE-II experiment at a new underground laboratory, Yemilab, in Korea.

AMoRE is an experiment to search neutrino-less double beta decays of Mo-100 with molybdate crystals at ~ 10 mK temperature utilizing low temperature sensors and SQUID. A successful candidate is expected to help developing a DAQ program and analyze AMoRE-II data. The data analysis includes waveform analysis, Monte-Carlo simulation for backgrounds, and optimization for energy resolution and background reduction etc. The annual salary will be determined based on the ability and experiences of the applicant with a minimum annual salary of 50M KRW (~ 43.5k$) for the beginning postdoctor.

□ Personal Qualification

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics and should have a strong research experience in the data analysis. Experiences with statistical methods and Monte-Carlo simulations, particularly expertise with the ROOT and GEANT4, will be advantageous. Postdoctors are for three-years, and senior researchers are for a period of 5 years.
