The 2002 sci-fi blockbuster from Stephen Spielberg takes place in 2054, a time where crime is virtually eliminated thanks to Pre-Crime, an elite law enforcement squad headed by Chief John Anderton (Cruise). The government programme uses Pre-Cogs - mutant humans with special powers who peer into the future and predict crimes before they occur. Anderton believes the system flawless that is until the Pre-Cogs predict a future murder and Anderton is the prime suspect. He flees and investigates the legitimacy of the prediction by kidnapping a female Pre-Cog, Agatha, who might be the key in proving his innocence.
