IBS Vascular Research Center Senior Researcher JIN Ho-Kyung Receives the 35th R. L. Wunsch Young Medical Scientist AwardJIN Ho-Kyung, Senior Researcher at the Vascular Research Center of the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), has been awarded the Young Medical Scientist Award at the 35th R. L. Wunsch Medical Prize, jointly organized by the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and Boehringer Ingelheim Korea. The Wunsch Medical Prize was established in 1990 in honor of Dr. Richard WUNSCH, a German physician who served as the royal doctor to Emperor Gojong of Joseon. Each year, following a rigorous selection process, the award recognizes medical scientists who have achieved outstanding research accomplishments, and it is regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in Korean medical science. The prize consists of two categories: the Main Award, given to medical scientists with more than 20 years of clinical or research contributions to Korean medicine, and the Young Medical Scientist Award, granted to medical researchers 40 years old or younger who have published highly impactful and academically valuable research. This year, Senior Researcher JIN Ho-Kyung was selected as the recipient of the Young Medical Scientist Award (Clinical Division). He was highly recognized for being the first to propose a clinically viable therapeutic strategy that modulates lymphatic vessels without the need for invasive brain surgery. The award ceremony was held on November 25 at the Plenty Convention Hall inside Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
