IBS Senior Researcher Shingo GIBO of the Biomedical Mathematics Group Receives Academic Encouragement Award from the Japanese Society for ChronobiologyShingo GIBO, Senior Researcher at the Biomedical Mathematics Group within the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), has received the Academic Encouragement Award at the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Chronobiology. This award is presented annually by the Japanese Society for Chronobiology to recognize and encourage outstanding young researchers who have made significant achievements in the fields of time biology and chronobiology. Eligible candidates must be within 11 years of obtaining their Ph.D. (or within a certain period after earning a master’s degree) and must be members of the society. Dr. Gibo was honored for his theoretical studies on biological clocks and hibernation, focusing on waveform analysis, and gained particular attention for being the first recipient selected solely for theoretical research. The award ceremony was held on October 5 during the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Chronobiology.
