Scientists from around the world will gather to explore the impact of climate and environmental changes on human evolution. The Institute for Basic Science (IBS, President NOH Do Young), with the IBS Center for Climate Physics (Director Axel TIMMERMANN), will host the 'IBS Conference on Climate and Human Evolution' from October 15 to 19 at Pusan National University.

The IBS Conference is a premier international academic event in basic science, bringing together world-renowned scholars and influential speakers from various fields to share the latest research trends. IBS has been organizing these conferences since 2013 to strengthen international research collaboration networks.

This year's conference will feature speakers from diverse disciplines to discuss how climate and environmental changes have influenced human divergence, adaptation, migration, and cultural development. Experts from paleoclimatology, anthropology, archaeology, ecology, climate modeling, genomics, and other fields will gather to delve deeply into the relationship between human evolution and climate change, and to identify new collaborative research topics.
