Research Fellow Positions at Center for Relativistic Laser Science, IBSCenter for Relativistic Laser Science (CoReLS) of Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea invites applicants with extraordinary talents in two areas 1) Relativistic laser-plasma physics. The responsibilities include developing laboratory experimental configurations and executing advanced research in proton/ion/electron acceleration using 4 Petawatt laser. Applicant should be experienced with one or more of the following research areas: adaptive optics, plasma mirror, high power lasers, laser plasma physics, and laser assisted proton/ion/electron acceleration. 2) Development of high power lasers. The responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and commissioning of high power laser systems. The responsbilities include developing laser configurations and executing advanced laser development. Applicant should be experienced with one or more of the following research areas: oscillator, OPCPA, XPW, pump lasers, multi-amplifier stages, adaptive optics, and geometric optics, ultrafast optics, non-linear optics. Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, LABVIEW, CODEV, ZMAX, PIC for simulations and software development is also sought. Prospective candidates must have a Ph. D. degree in plasma physics, laboratory astrophysics, ultrashort high-power lasers, optics, electrical engineer, or equivalent. The applicants must have hands on experiences with ultrashort high-power lasers, laser plasma experiments, laser development, or laser accelerated particle experiments. Applicants may send resume, publication list, and the names of three references electronically to corels@ibs.re.kr by February 22th, 2019. |
