2022-2 Recruitment Announcement for Postdoctoral research associate position at the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe
The YSF (Dr. Miok Park) who is belong to Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe (CTPU) at Institute for
Basic Science (http://www.ibs.re.kr),
South Korea, invites applications for one postdoctoral research associate
position in Theoretical High Energy Physics, with particular emphasis on Gravity (especially black holes),
Quantum Gravity or Numerical relativity. This position is available for individuals who is obtained their Ph.D
in five years or to be obtained within 3 months from the date of initial appointment. The annual salary is
around 40,000,000 Korean won and additionally the benefit card (1,600,000 Korean won) is provided. Also the
severance pay will be received separately if the employment is served at least one year, The starting date can
be anytime in 2022, but preferred in August 1st 2022. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, and can be
extended subject to the performance review and funding situation. Employment can be renewed only once and the
total appointed term is up to 3 years.
YSF(Dr. Miok Park) independently runs own small research group and conducts independent research as the principal
investigator within the center(CTPU). If accepted this position will be supported by the IBS-YSF funding, but
formally will belong to IBS-CTPU, which has large numbers of group members (1 director, 6 faculty members, 1 YSF
and 14 postdoctoral research fellows) and provides comfort and research friendly environment and more chances to
closely interact with researchers in diverse research areas.

- - (Postdoctoral research associate) Conduct research while at the same time
receiving postdoctoral training for a certain period of time to deepen their understanding of a field and
develop a distinctive research capability. Available for individuals who are within the first five years
after obtaining their Ph.D. or to be obtained within 3 months from the appointment start date. Appointed for
a term of up to three years.
