International Workshop
Disordered Systems: From Localization to Thermalization and Topology
Dates: September 3 - 7, 2018
Location: PCS IBS, Daejeon, South Korea
Scientific coordinators:
Rudo Römer (University of Warwick, UK)
Lea Santos (Yeshiva University, USA)
Ki-Seok Kim (POSTECH, Korea)
Overview:
The goal of the “International Workshop on Disordered Systems” (IWDS2018) is to gather experts and young researchers on different fields in which disorder plays a fundamental role. The workshop will provide a motivating scientific atmosphere in order to present the most recent advances in the field and to foster further collaborations between the participants. IWDS2018 follows a successful series of workshops that previously took place in Arica (Chile) in 1998 and 2000, Puebla (Mexico) in 2002 and 2010, Leganes (Spain) in 2004, Maceio (Brazil) in 2006, Cordoba (Argentina) in 2008, Benasque (Spain) in 2012, San Antonio (Texas, US) in 2014, Brescia (Italy) in 2016.
Topics include:
- Transport and localization in disordered systems
- Thermalization and many-body localisation
- Quantum dynamics in many body systems
- Quantum transport in nanosystems and application to biological systems
- Non-Hermitian physics and open quantum systems
- Role of disorders in topological phases of matter
