IBS Hosts First Community Work Day Event
- IBS Employees rolling up their sleeves for landscaping at the new HQ -
On March 28, employees of the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), including President KIM Doochul, came together for the 1st Community Work Day activity. They got their hands dirty to plant and water trees and shrubs to improve landscaping at their newly moved-in headquarters.
The Institute introduced IBS Community Work Day as a replacement for Communications Day to promote harmony in the workplace and make social contributions. The plan is to carry out at least one social contribution every quarter. Other than quarterly activities, employees can choose to participate in additional community service programs.
“IBS Community Work Day shows our commitment to contribute to the local community. With the program, we will continue our efforts in helping out those around us,” said President Kim at the event.
The Institute has been devoted to making social contributions. Last year, employees delivered boxed meals to local single elderly persons, served food at a local kitchen for the elderly, and cleaned up streets in Daejeon.
