On June 13, 2022, Ryeongkyung Yoon from the University of Houston gave a talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Seminar. The title of her talk was “Dynamical System Perspective for Machine Learning.”
On June 10, 2022, Minki Lee from the University of Michigan gave a talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Seminar. The title of his talk was “Phase Estimation of Nonlinear State-space Model of the Circadian Pacemaker Using Level Set Kalman Filter and Raw Wearable Data.”
On June 1, 2022, Heinz Koeppl from Technical University of Darmstadt, gave an online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “From live cell imaging to moment-based variational inference.”

논문 글쓰기 워크샵은 1부 성균관대학교 원병묵 교수님의 “논문 작성 원리: ABC 논문 작성법”과 2부 부산교육정책연구소 박영민 박사님의 “영어 논문 쓰기: 두려움을 성취로 바꾸는 길 / 불편함을 설렘으로 바꾸는 길” 로 나누어 진행되었습니다.
On June 2, 2022, Hanbaek Lyu from the University of Wisconsin – Madison gave a talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Seminar. The title of his talk was “Introduction to matrix and tensor factorization models and related stochastic nonconvex and constrained optimization algorithms.”
On May 25, 2022, Radek Erban from the University of Oxford, gave an online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Multi-resolution methods for modelling intracellular processes.”
Before the main talk, he also gave a 30-minutes-long introductory talk.
From May 28 to 30, BIMAG members participated in Korean Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (KSIAM) 2022 spring conference and presented our researches.
Dr. Won Chang has joined our group as a visiting research fellow.
Dr. Won Chang is an assistant professor in Statistics, A&S Mathematical Sciences, the University of Cincinnati. His research interests are High-dimensional spatial data analysis, Non-Gaussian spatial data analysis, Data-driven simulation of climate processes, Computer model emulation and calibration, Composite likelihood, Statistical methods in environmental science, Bayesian inference, and Time series.
On May 26, 2022, Yuji Hirono from The Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), gave a talk at the KAIST Department of Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Simplifying complex chemical reaction networks.”
Dr. Jeungeun Park has visited our group.
Dr. Jeungeun Park is an assistant professor at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her research topics are traveling waves, nonlinear conservation laws, chemotaxis, and flagellated bacteria. She will stay for three weeks. Welcome!
