On April 15, 2021, Luonan Chen from the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave an online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Dynamics-based data science in biology.”
On April 09, 2021, Hyukpyo Hong from the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group gave a talk explaining the paper “Highly accurate fluorogenic DNA sequencing with information theory-based error correction.”

On March 25, 2021, Daniel Forger from the University of Michigan gave the first online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “The mathematics of the wearables with applications to circadian rhythms and sleep”.
On March 22, 2021, Dae Wook Kim from the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group gave a talk about his research at BRIC Webinar. The title was “Revealing causes of disrupted wake-sleep cycles using mathematical model.”
On March 19, 2021, Seokjoo Chae from the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group gave a talk explaining the paper “Unified rational protein engineering with sequence-based deep representation learning”
On March 12, 2021, Dae Wook Kim from the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Group gave a talk explaining the paper “Maximum Entropy Framework for Predictive Inference of Cell Population Heterogeneity and Responses in Signaling Networks.”
Dae Wook Kim is selected as the Van Loo Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Professor, the most prestigious applied mathematics Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Dae Wook said “I am thankful to my adviser who has inspired me to successfully develop my academic career. I am excited to continue research for mathematical biology and medicine.”
Biomedical Mathematics Group (BIMAG) in the Institute for Basic Science, led by its Chief Investigator Jae Kyoung Kim, is established.
