gave an online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Mathematical Modelling of Microtube Driven Invasion of Glioma.”
From December 5 to 8, BIMAG members participated in the 2024 KSIAM Annual Meeting held at BEXCO in Busan. Jae Kyoung Kim (CI), Eui Min Jeong, Gyuyoung Hwang (postdoctoral researchers), and Yun Min Song (graduate interns) delivered oral presentations. Meanwhile, Brenda Lyn Gavina, Kévin Spinicci (postdoctoral researchers), Dongju Lim, Olive Cawiding, Kangmin Lee (graduate interns), Hyeongjun Jang (undergraduate intern), Taehong Kim, and Jaeyoon Cha (high school interns) presented posters.

Jae Kyoung Kim (CI) received the KSIAM Most Presentations Award, Hyeongjun Jang (undergraduate intern) won the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award, and Dr. Brenda was honored with the Popular Poster Presentation Award. Congratulations!

Dr. Shingo Gibo has joined our group as a senior researcher. He earned his Ph.D. in Design from Kyushu University and previously served as a postdoctoral researcher at the RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program. His research expertise spans theoretical biology, nonlinear oscillations, and acoustic engineering. Welcome!
From November 28 to 30, IBS BIMAG members and collaborators gathered to host the IBS BIMAG & KAIST Math Biology Lab Winter Workshop. (Workshop Website) The workshop provided an opportunity for BIMAG members and researchers from various fields to share their ongoing research and discuss and present plans for future projects.

On November 25, the latest research by BIMAG members on predicting mood disorders was featured on news programs by broadcasters such as TJB and KBS. This study was recently published in the journal npj Digital Medicine under the title “Accurately predicting mood episodes in mood disorder patients using wearable sleep and circadian rhythm features.”

On November 23, BIMAG members participated in the 2024 2024 Korean Society of Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting, held at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall in Seoul. Participants included CI Jae Kyoung Kim, PhD students Yun Min Song, Dong Joo Lim, and Olive, as well as undergraduate researcher Joo Hyun Kim.
