On October 1, Professor Jae Kyoung Kim (CI) delivered a special lecture at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg for faculty and students. He is also scheduled to give consecutive lectures at the University of Pretoria on October 2 and at Stellenbosch University on October 3.

On September 24, Dr. Shingo Gibo received the Academic Encouragement Award from the Japanese Society for Chronobiology. It is the most important award for young chronobiologists in Japan. He is the first to receive it solely for theoretical work. Congrats!

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Fanpeng Song, a postdoctoral fellow at the Data Science Institute of Shandong University, China, who joined BIMAG this September as a visiting research fellow.
Dr. Song’s research focuses on network science, evolutionary dynamics, and stochastic processes, with particular expertise in evolutionary game theory and opinion dynamics. His work aims to uncover the evolutionary patterns underlying human cooperative behavior and opinion formation.
