Dr. Won Chang has joined our group as a visiting research fellow.
Dr. Won Chang is an assistant professor in Statistics, A&S Mathematical Sciences, the University of Cincinnati. His research interests are High-dimensional spatial data analysis, Non-Gaussian spatial data analysis, Data-driven simulation of climate processes, Computer model emulation and calibration, Composite likelihood, Statistical methods in environmental science, Bayesian inference, and Time series.
On May 26, 2022, Yuji Hirono from The Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), gave a talk at the KAIST Department of Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Simplifying complex chemical reaction networks.”
Dr. Jeungeun Park has visited our group.
Dr. Jeungeun Park is an assistant professor at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her research topics are traveling waves, nonlinear conservation laws, chemotaxis, and flagellated bacteria. She will stay for three weeks. Welcome!
Minki Lee (Undergraduate researcher) has joined our group.
Minki is an undergraduate student at the department of mathematics, University of Michigan. His research project is ”Phase estimation of nonlinear state space model of the circadian pacemaker using the level set kalman filter.”

Reinatt Hansel Wijaya is an undergraduate student at the departments of computer science and business & technology management, KAIST. His research project is ‘Development of Apps for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.’

On May 12, 2022, Seokjoo Chae gave a talk on “Optimizing Oscillators for Specific Tasks Predicts Preferred Biochemical Implementations”, Agrahar and Rust, bioRxiv, 2022, at the Journal Club.
On May 12, 2022, Kresimir Josic from the University of Houston, gave an online talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Plasticity and balance in neuronal networks.”
Before the main talk, he also gave a 30-minutes-long introductory talk.
On May 06, 2022, Yun Min Song gave a talk on “The 103,200-arm acceleration dataset in the UK Biobank revealed a landscape of human sleep phenotypes”, Katori et al., PNAS, 2022, at the Journal Club.
