On July 22, 2022, Yun Min Song gave a talk on “Accuracy and limitations of extrinsic noise models to describe gene expression in growing cells”, Jia, Chen, and Ramon Grima, bioRxiv (2022) at the Journal Club.
On July 22, 2022, Kyohei Kondo from Tokyo Institute of Technology gave a talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Seminar. The title of his talk was “Effects of thermal environment for good sleep in the intermediate season of autumn.”
From July 11 to 14, BIMAG members participated in SIAM Conference on the Life Sciences 2022 (SIAM LS22) and presented our researches.

On July 5, 2022, Junil Kim from Soongsil University gave a talk at the IBS Biomedical Mathematics Seminar. The title of his talk was “TENET+: a tool for reconstructing gene networks by integrating single cell expression and chromatin accessibility data.”
On July 5, 2022, Aurelio de los Reyes V gave a talk on “AI Pontryagin or how artificial neural networks learn to control dynamical systems”, Böttcher, L., Antulov-Fantulin, N. & Asikis, T., Nat Commun 13, 333 (2022), at the Journal Club.
From June 30 to July 1, BIMAG members participated in KSMCB Symposium for associate academic division on Biological Rhythms and presented our researches. Seokjoo Chae received a best poster presentation award. Congratulation!

From June 26 to 28, BIMAG members participated in KSIAM-NIMS School on Biomathematics: Statistical Tools for Mathematical Modeling. Three wonderful instructors gave serial lectures:

– Won Chang (U of Cincinnati): More than curve fitting and uncertainty quantification
– Youngdeok Hwang (City U of New York): Design and analysis of computer experiments
지난 6월 26일 – 28일 여수 베네치아호텔에서 열린 한국산업응용수학회-국가수리과학연구소 공동 주관 생물수학학교: <수리모델링을 위한 통계적 방법론>에 우리 그룹 연구원들이 참석하였습니다. 세 분의 멋진 연사님들께서 3일에 걸쳐 아래와 같은 다양한 강의를 진행해주셨습니다.
