From Nov 2nd to 4th, members of BIMAG had the privilege of the 2023 KSIAM Annual Meeting held at Kimdaejung Convention Center, Gwangju, Korea. During the conference, every member had the chance to present their work and interact with accomplished applied/industrial mathematicians.

Dr. Brenda Lyn Gavina earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines Diliman, specializing in mathematical modeling and control of the menstrual cycle as her research focus.

In a courtyard performance at the IBS building, Professor Jonathan Rubin and Professor Kwang-Yeon Choi showcased their musical talents. Professor Rubin took the stage with his trumpet, while Professor Choi strummed the guitar, treating the audience to a delightful musical experience. Their repertoire consisted of three songs, including Queen’s iconic “We Are the Champions.”
