On May 17th, Gyuyoung Hwang gave a talk on “Optimal-Transport Analysis of Single-Cell Gene Expression Identifies Developmental Trajectories in Reprogramming”.
Dr. Kévin SPINICCI has joined our group as a postdoctoral fellow.
Dr. Kévin SPINICCI earned his Ph.D. from TIMC Lab.
He has worked previously on computational and mathematical approaches to understand cancer cells metabolism reprogramming and consequences for therapeutic optimization.

From April 25th to 28th, BIMAG members participated in the KAIST booth at the 2024 Korea Science Festival. They had the opportunity to introduce the AI SLEEPs, predicting sleep disorders, and the SleepWake app for recommending sleep patterns, developed by BIMAG , to numerous visitors.

Jonathan Rubin, a professor at the University of Pittsburgh and a visiting scholar at BIMAG, has been elected as the chair of the SIAM Activity Group on Dynamical Systems. This group, comprising over 1,000 SIAM members who published 105 related journal articles in 2023, serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas and information among mathematicians and applied scientists working with dynamical systems, until the end of 2025.
피츠버그 대학 교수이자 BIMAG의 방문 연구원인 Jonathan Rubin 교수가 SIAM 다이내믹 시스템 활동 그룹 의장이 되었습니다. 이 그룹은 2023년에 105편의 관련 학술지 논문을 발표한 1,000명 이상의 SIAM 회원으로 구성되어 있으며, 2025년까지 다이내믹 시스템과 관련된 수학자와 응용 과학자 간의 아이디어와 정보 교환의 장이 될 예정입니다.
An interview with CI Jae Kyoung Kim was conducted on the sleep YouTube channel of the neurologist and sleep specialist, [SLEEP Dr. Shin Won-chul’s Sweet Sleep Tube]. The interview video was uploaded to the channel on March 26th, titled “[Sweet Sleep Special Lecture Episode 7] Evaluating My Sleep with AI Artificial Intelligence (Professor Jae Kyoung Kim from KAIST).”

Former BIMAG members Dr Dae Wook Kim and Dr. Hyeontae Jo have been appointed as professors in the Department of Mathematics at Sogang University and Sejong Campus, Korea University, respectively, starting from March 2024. Congratulations!

Lucas MacQuarrie (Graduate student) has joined our group.
Lucas is a graduate student at the department of mathematical sciences, KAIST.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Western Ontario.
He has worked previously on orthogonal polynomials as well as applied dynamical systems.

On February 8th, a total of 11 participants of the 2024 BIMAG Winter Internship had a time to present the outcomes of the projects they had been working on for the past month. Not only did all participants achieve excellent results, but they also delivered great presentations. Following the event, we had a meal together at the Daejeon 한우곰탕 restaurant.
지난 2월 8일, 총 11명의 2024 BIMAG Winter Internship 참여자들이 지난 한 달여 동안 진행한 프로젝트의 성과를 발표하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 모든 참여자가 훌륭한 성과를 냈을 뿐만 아니라 좋은 발표를 해주었습니다. 행사 직후 대전 한우곰탕 식당에서 함께 식사를 진행했습니다.
