At the 2026 KAIST Research Day held on April 29th, Prof. Jae Kyoung Kim was recognized for his outstanding research and received the Innovation Award under the Outstanding Faculty Awards for Research.

Former BIMAG member, Dr. Daewook Kim, began his role as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at KAIST on September 1.
Starting September, Dr. Seokjoo Chae begins as a postdoctoral associate at Rice University.
CI Jae Kyoung Kim released his new book, 수학이 생명의 언어라면 (If Mathematics is the Language of Biology), on August 22, 2024. The book explores how mathematical concepts can be applied to solve complex biomedical challenges. It is available at https://product.kyobobook.co.kr/detail/S000214091798.

Dr. Gyuyoung Hwang has joined our group as a postdoctoral fellow.
Dr. Gyuyoung Hwang earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Seoul National University.
He has worked previously on dynamical systems.

Lucas MacQuarrie (Graduate student) has joined our group.
Lucas is a graduate student at the department of mathematical sciences, KAIST.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Western Ontario.
He has worked previously on orthogonal polynomials as well as applied dynamical systems.

Dr. Kwang-Yeon Choi has joined our group as a visiting research scholar during his sabbatical year.
Dr. Kwang-Yeon Choi is an assistant professor in the College of Medicine in Chungnam National University. Dr. Choi works on bipolar disorder, depression, panic disorder, and epigenetics.
