Job Opening Notice for Senior Researcher & Researcher at IBS Center for Genome Engineering
The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is Korea’s first government-funded basic science research institute established under Article 14 of the Special Act on Establishment of and Support for International Science and Business Belt. IBS aims to discover creative knowledge and technologies through world-class basic science research.
Center for Genome Engineering is one of the first centers established by Institute for Basic Science. The center is directed by Dr. Jin-Soo Kim and located at IBS Headquarters(Daejeon). The research of the center focuses on in vivo an in vitro genetic engineering utilizing adult stem cell-based organoids and mouse models. The selected candidate will be working in the team of Dr Bon-Kyoung Koo, whose research topics are described in his current institute: https://www.oeaw.ac.at/imba/research/bon-kyoung-koo Plant research team of Center for Genome Engineering also will continue our efforts to expand editing technologies in various plants and to develop value-added crops.

- - Senior Researcher: research personnel with a doctoral degree, total appointment period available up to five years (e.g., 3+2 years), may be promoted to senior research fellow through a separate evaluation.
- - Researcher: research personnel with a Master degree, total appointment period available up to five years (e.g., 3+2 years)
- ※ In the unlikely event of closing the Center, the employment contract will be terminated accordingly.

- • Those who are qualified as defined in Article 33 of the State Public Officials Act and IBS regulations.
- • Those who completed mandatory military service or are exempt from such service, and are permitted to travel abroad.
