Junior Research Team Leaders
Two Junior Research Team Leaders positions are open for related theory projects in condensed matter physics, mesoscopics, and the physics of light. Among others the focus is on uncovering fundamental nonlinear and many-body processes in trapped atomic condensates, superconducting networks, metamaterials, quantum dot arrays, plasmonic and nanophotonic structures, and mesoscopics. Experience in one or more of the following topics will be of benefit: disorder and interactions, exciton-polariton condensates, many-body localization, nonlinear nanophotonics, quantum stochastic dynamics, superconducting networks, topology + frustration + flatbands, transport in nanostructures, ultracold atomic gases.
Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent computational skills and the ability to effectively lead a research project with allocated center members are essential for all positions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience, and have strong interest to work in a multidisciplinary and dynamic research environment. The duration of the positions will be for three years, with the possibility of prolongation for two more years.
Salary will commensurate with experience.
The teams draw on infrastructure and administration of IBS, and are provided with research expenses (for example: travel expenses, conference participation fees). The successful candidates will lead a team of 2-4 center members on postdoctoral and Ph.D. levels.
The consideration of applicants will begin immediately. Interested applicants should send an application (attached form), a CV (including a publication list), a detailed team research plan and arrange for three letters of recommendations to be sent to Dr. Sergej Flach via email (pcs@ibs.re.kr). |
