Announcement for IBS Designated Research Areas

IBS designated research areas of research centers are as follows. Please refer to the information below when submitting your application.

Purpose

  • IBS has designated specific research areas that are deemed suitable to select directors for mid/long-term research in order to establish research centers that pursue research of excellence.
  • IBS aims to develop its research capabilities in basic science as well as enhance national research competencies with designated research areas to focus on national or international significant, promising research and specialized research areas for campus research centers to form a basic science research hub.

Instructions for Applicants

  • Submit your applications through the IBS Homepage (http://www.ibs.re.kr/en/apply).

    ※ You may submit applications any time of the year. The recruitment process for designated research areas will be the same as the process for other research areas.

  • Applicants in mathematics, theoretical physics or rare isotope sciences should apply for HQ research centers.
  • Research content relevant to designated research areas other than those described in <Appendix1> may be added.
