Four IBS scientists are named among the top 300 most cited researchers in materials science and engineering (MSE) ranked by the total citations of their papers. The IBS scientists are: RYOO Ryoung, Director of the IBS Center for Nanomaterials and Chemical Reactions; HYEON Taekhwan, Director of the IBS Center for Nanoparticle Research; Rodney Ruoff, Director of the IBS Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials; and Christopher W BIELAWSKI, Group Leader of the same Center.

The citation data are based on the Elsevier Scopus database. MSE Supplies (www.msesupplies.com) compiled the ranking data and listed the names and institutions of these highly cited authors.

Among the top 300 standout researchers, 10 scientists affiliated with Korean universities and institutions, including four IBS researchers, make it to the list of influential names in the field. The admission of four IBS scientists to the list indicates the prominent role IBS plays in leading Korea’s basic science research.
