Tenure Track Research Fellow Position at Center for Underground Physics, IBSThe Center for Underground Physics (CUP, https://cupweb.ibs.re.kr/html/cup_en/) at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS, https://www.ibs.re.kr/eng.do) in Daejeon, Korea invites outstanding researchers for tenure-track positions to lead researches on the underground particle astrophysics. At present CUP is conducting dark matter search experiments (KIMS, COSINE), a double beta decay experiment (AMORE), and a neutrino experiment (NEOS). CUP develops low-temperature phonon-scintillation detectors based on MMC sensors for the AMoRE, low-threshold low-temperature detectors for dark matter search, and ultra-low background crystal growing techniques. We further conduct R&D for new detection technology for future underground experiments. The center operates Yangyang Underground Laboratory (Y2L) in addition to the ground laboratories at IBS headquarter in Daejeon, and are constructing a new underground laboratory by the year of 2019. Candidates should have a strong research experience with a leadership in either experiments related to the research fields of CUP or technical developments such as low temperature detectors or ultra-low-level radiation techniques. The appointment is a full time tenure-track contract, and the tenure evaluation will be made within six years. Starting salary ranges between $70,000 and $ 120,000 depending on career. These positions will remain open for a minimum of 2 months after which they will close when qualified candidates are identified and/or hired. Those interested should send their CV, research plan in one page, a publication list featuring three highlights, and three reference letters. For more information, candidates should contact Yeongduk Kim (ydkim@ibs.re.kr). Application documents should be sent to Mr. Byungjin Choi (bjchoi@ibs.re.kr). Reference letters should be sent to Mr. Choi directly from the writers. |
