Camera lenses concentrate light to make images of objects. Optical aberrations, which refer to distortion of images, occur due to refractions of lenses. To remove aberrations, camera lenses consist of several convex and concave lenses through which light beam passes. Even though smartphones have become thinner than ever, camera lenses on them have remained rather thick as smartphones feature high-resolution cameras. Reducing thicknesses of lenses from a few centimeters to a few tens of micrometers, business card-thin camera lenses could be invented.
