Waiting for Creative Artwork Expressing Quantum Nanoscience

Poster

The Center for Quantum Nanoscience (QNS) within the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is holding an art contest called "The World of Quantum" for students and the general public. The contest is to encourage the public's interest in quantum nanoscience.

The art category is open to any type and size of artwork including painting, textile, design, video and sculpture, etc. The first round deadline is June 30th. The first prize of 3 million won will be awarded by the director of QNS. There will be two second place prizes of 2 million won each and two third place prizes of 1 million won each.

The director Andreas Heinrich, a professor at the Department of Physics at Ewha Womans University, said "We prepared an easy and engaging talk for applicants who would feel physics difficult and unfamiliar. Through this contest, I hope the public realizes the beauty of quantum nanoscience and expresses it in their own creative way."

For more details, visit the website https://qns.science/art. The winners' artwork will be exhibited in QNS' new building which is planned to be completed in June. You can download an introductory article about where art and quantum nanoscience meet, reference videos, and a comic, etc. via http://bitly.kr/4PYp.
