Overview

The Center for Genomic Integrity (CGI) of Institute of Basic Science (IBS) at UNIST in Ulsan, Korea invites applications for technicians in biology and chemistry. The successful applicant will conduct research in the newly established chemical and cancer biology branch headed by Prof. Orlando Scharer. CGI is a recently established research center belonging to IBS, a newly established national research institute to promote basic science research of Korea.

Description

The successful candidate will perform active research on one of the ongoing or new projects on human DNA repair pathways, including: 1) Molecular mechanisms and regulation of nucleotide excision repair, 2) Structure/function relationships of DNA interstrand crosslink repair and 3) Pathway-specific characterization and inhibition of DNA repair. We offer a stimulating research environment, state of the art laboratory and opportunity to be involved in building a new top notch research center. We are particularly looking for enthusiastic applicants with experience in cell culture, molecular cloning protein expression and purification as well as synthetic organic and analytical chemistry. Qualifications

• - MSc in chemistry or biology or closely related field.
• - Research experience in one of the following areas: molecular and cell biology or biochemistry.
• - Good working knowledge of English
• - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Appointment Period and Salary

The initial appointment will be for one year with possibility of extension of up to a total of five years. Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience.
