ICCP signs MoUs with two foreign schools in Busan
- Science education program on climate change and Earth's environment to be provided for students -
IBS Center for Climate Physics (ICCP) at the Institute for Basic Science signed MoUs with Busan International Foreign School and Busan Foreign School last month in order to raise awareness of the causes and effects of climate change and promote interest in the Earth's environment among young students.
The ICCP will host a summer internship program during the July-August summer vacation where one or two students recommended by each of the two schools in Busan will participate in climate change research along with world-renowned climate scholars. The research center will also hold international conferences as well as regular lectures, which will explore the latest topics on environmental changes.
Director Axel Timmermann of ICCP said: "This new education program will provide high school students an opportunity to have a hands-on experience of up-to-date climate change research projects. It will inspire scientific curiosity in participating students and bring complex climate issues to their attention."
