IBS Young Scientist Fellowship (IBS YSF)

With the bold vision of "Making Discoveries for Humanity and Society", IBS was founded to broaden and promote the fundamental scientific knowledge of humanity. IBS counts 28 research centers, spanning some of the most cutting edge topics in chemistry, physics, mathematics, earth science, interdisciplinary, and life sciences.

We want to foster the next generation of young scientists and offer them a bright future. We are offering the IBS Young Scientist Fellowships (IBS YSF) to promising young minds. With a generous salary and state-of-the-art infrastructure, YS Fellows will be able to spend up to 5 years in South Korea in one of the IBS centers. The submission deadline is May 31, 2017.

Last year the IBS YSF selected seven young researchers. Two of them have already started, they were drawn back to South Korea after training abroad. "It is the only program of this kind in this country," comments the YS Fellow KIM Teun-Teun, working at the IBS Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics. "It is a wonderful opportunity to do independent research. I expect this fellowship would be a great stepping stone for my future career," says PARK Jung-Woo, YS fellow at the IBS Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalizations.
